Simona Polo is the Principal Investigator at IFOM, where they have directed the Molecular Machines in Signaling Pathways research program since 2005. Previously, Simona served as a Staff Scientist at IEO Istituto Europeo di Oncologia from 1999 to 2005. In addition to their role at IFOM, Simona is currently an Associate Professor of General Pathology at the Università degli Studi di Milano, where they have been teaching since 2020. They completed a postdoctorate at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele from 1996 to 1999 and earned a PhD in Genetics at the Università degli Studi di Milano from 1991 to 1995.
