Patrick Durand

Patrick Durand is an accomplished bioinformatics professional with extensive experience in software engineering and tool development for biological data analysis. Currently, Patrick serves as the Director of the Bioinformatics Core Facility at IFREMER, focusing on technical support and analysis in fields such as metabarcoding and metagenomics. Prior roles include Senior Principal Software Engineer at Plealog Open Source Solutions, where Patrick contributes to open-source projects, and Senior R&D Software Engineer at Inria, where innovations were made in next-generation sequencing data analysis. As the Founder and CEO of Korilog, Patrick led software solutions in bioinformatics. Educational background includes a PhD in Bioinformatics from Pierre and Marie Curie University and an Engineer's degree in Chemistry and Agri-business from Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech.
