Colby Chenard has been in the technology industry since 2008, when they began working as an Information Technology Specialist for the New Hampshire National Guard. In 2011, they became a Technology Associate at Staples, where they inspected equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to users, installed and performed minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, and entered commands and observed system functioning to verify correct operations and detected errors. In 2012, they moved on to become a Bartender/Manager at Ruby Tuesday, where they sliced and pitted fruit for garnishing drinks, executed daily operations of stocking, maintaining and line checks, and cleaned glasses, utensils, and bar equipment. In 2013, they began working as a Software Engineer at C Squared Systems, LLC, where they developed features and fixed bugs primarily using Adobe Flex, PHP, and MySQL environments. That same year, they also became a Software Development Intern at Autodesk, where they developed high-level software design, APIs, prototypes, and production code to implement updates for Autodesk's infrastructure collaboration products. Colby then moved on to become a Senior Release Automation Engineer at Thunderhead in 2018, and a Senior DevOps Engineer at RECUR in 2021. Most recently, they are a Principal DevOps Engineer at Operix, beginning in 2023.

Colby Chenard attended the University of New Hampshire from 2011 to 2014, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Information Systems. Colby previously attended Savannah Technical College in 2010 to 2011. In addition, they attended the Army Signal school of Information Systems, where they obtained the Analyst 25B in Information Technology. In March 2014, they were certified as a ScrumMaster by the Scrum Alliance.
