Eric Pierce

Lead UX and Product Designer at IFS Core

Eric Pierce has a decade of work experience in the design and technology industry. Eric began their career in 2005 as an Intern at Internet Real Estate LLC, where they researched and entered data for company-owned websites, wrote reviews and editorials of featured podcasts, and co-authored a business proposal for a partnership with a major European advertising company. In 2006, they joined Tech Target as an Assistant Editor/Trafficking Specialist, where they maintained and updated SearchNetworkingChannel.com.

In 2007, Pierce joined Pearson North America as a Technical Support Specialist, where they provided customer and knowledgebase support for online course management systems. Eric was then promoted to Associate Project Manager International Support, where they designed and implemented an organization-wide Quality Monitoring system for the HigherEd technical support group, and designed and implemented the personnel management process for seasonal and tenured support staff. Eric was later promoted to Associate Project Manager Quality Assurance, where they maintained and updated Service Excellent Program (SEP) for online course management systems.

In 2017, Pierce joined General Assembly as a UXDI Student, where they completed 400+ hours of immersive training in User Experience Design over the course of 10 weeks. Eric was also a Teaching Assistant, where they mentored students in the UX Design Immersive Program, provided project and portfolio instruction and feedback, reviewed deliverables, and offered daily advice and encouragement to aspiring designers. That same year, they also joined Parlor as a UX Design Consultant, where they created a heuristic-based feedback evaluation framework for a prototyping tool, designed a chatbot-based survey aimed at engaging users and encouraging genuine feedback, and designed an analytics suite and dashboard catering to the needs of product developers and their stakeholders.

In 2018, Pierce joined Sallie Mae as a UX Designer, where they designed, wireframed, and tested the updated online student loan application. Eric also updated patterns and interactions, introduced device-agnostic and accessible flows, developed and implemented a new design system, and applied the company rebrand. Eric presented designs and represented the UX department in front of oversight committees including the CMO and senior corporate leadership.

Most recently, in 2020, Pierce joined Operix as a Lead UX and Product Designer, and then later as a Product Designer.

Eric Pierce attended Ithaca College from 2001 to 2005 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. In 2017, they attended General Assembly and completed the User Experience Design Immersive program.
