Christopher D'Angelo

Christopher D'Angelo is a Root Vegetable Breeder at Illinois Foundation Seeds, Inc. since April 2018, specializing in breeding programs for carrot, table beet, and swiss chard across global markets. Prior to this role, Christopher held various positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, including Sweet Corn Breeder and Root Crop Research & Development Lead, conducting research on onion vernalization and dormancy as a Graduate Research Assistant. Additional experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research, addressing bacterial disease in crops, and internships at Ball Horticultural Company, Monsanto, and Cornell University, focusing on crop production and breeding. Christopher D'Angelo earned a PhD in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor's degree in Plant Science from Cornell University.
