Ryan Walsh has had a varied career, beginning in 2008 as a Customer Assistance Associate at CAA South Central Ontario, where they obtained their General Insurance Agent (OTL) License and provided assistance to customers regarding their auto and home insurance. In 2011, they held the role of IT Helpdesk at Equitable Life of Canada, providing daily IT support and tracking all incoming and outgoing IT inventory. That same year, they also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Waterloo, presenting course material in large lectures and assisting students with any and all course inquiries. From 2013 to 2017, they were a PhD Candidate and Teaching Assistant at McMaster University, presenting course material in large lectures and facilitating group discussions in weekly meetings. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have been a Data Insights Analyst, Senior Technical Support Analyst, and Technical Support Specialist at Igloo Software, collating company data streams into centralized reports for internal analysis and creating and curating custom and templated reports for customer consumption.
Ryan Walsh completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Classical, Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies and Archaeology from the University of Waterloo in 2011. Ryan then went on to pursue their Master of Arts (M.A.) in the same field from the University of Waterloo in 2013. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Classical, Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies and Archaeology from McMaster University in 2018.
