Firen Forrest has a long and successful career in the healthcare and media industries. In 2009, they began their professional career as Executive Director of the Institute for Accelerated Learning, where they developed a new business model and implemented new and updated informational and operational systems. That same year, they also served as a Consultant for Arrowhead Health Centers. In 2008, they worked as a Consultant for Strategic Hospital Pricing at International Hospital Corporation, where they assessed hospital operations and presented their findings to senior corporate executives. From 2011-2014, they served as a Midwife at Austin Area Birthing Center, and then as Director of Programs at Circle of Health International from 2012-2014. In 2021, they became a Project Manager for Marketing at MobileCoin, and in 2022 they co-lead Ignite Talks as President.

Firen Forrest has a diverse educational background. In 2007, they completed their MBA in Global Management and Entrepreneurship from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. From 2005 to 2011, they obtained a Certified Professional Midwife from the NARM PEP in Direct Entry Midwifery. From 2001 to 2005, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Culture from Rollins College. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including California Licensed Midwife from the Medical Board of California in 2014, Certified Professional Midwife from the North American Registry of Midwives in 2012, Neonatal Resuscitation from the American Academy of Pediatrics/American Heart Association in 2011, Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) - Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association in 2005, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics from the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2013, and Texas Licensed Midwife from the Texas Midwifery Board in 2012.
