Round-up Israel is a non-profit organization aiming to develop widespread individual philanthropy and to make it a part of every person’s daily life. Round-Up provides a simple and innovative platform, which enables every person, almost regardless of his/her financial standing, to engage in effective philanthropic activity on a regular basis. Round-Up aims to export its unique model, which is currently implemented only in Israel.
Round-up platform enables credit card users to give a permanent standing order to round up each of their credit card transactions to the nearest round amount. For instance, when buying a product which costs 73.80 NIS, the card will be charged 74.00 NIS, and the extra 20 pennies (Agorot) will be directed to a charity of the customer’s choice, from a list of approved charities provided by Round-Up. Thus the mechanism allows for a permanent donation from the donor to his/her selected charities, and ties the donor’s regular consumption to routine giving.
