Kapil Gupta

Kapil Gupta is a Professor at IIT Bombay, where expertise includes urban flood disaster mitigation, nature-based solutions, flood early warning systems, multihazard early warning systems, and critical infrastructure, with a tenure beginning in April 1999. In September 2023, Kapil Gupta serves as a Leverhulme Visiting Professor at University College London, continuing into August 2024. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Urban Water Engineering from The University of Sheffield (1992-1995), a Master of Technology in Civil Engineering with a focus on Hydraulics and Water Resources from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (1986-1988), an additional M Tech in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (1985-1987), and a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (1979-1984), complemented by middle school education from St. Xavier's, Jaipur.
