Sudarshan Kumar Vatsyayan

Sudarshan Kumar Vatsyayan serves as the Dean of International Relations and Institute Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, since November 2006. With expertise in combustion, heat transfer, propulsion, and computational fluid dynamics, Sudarshan has progressed through various academic roles, including Head of the Department and Associate Professor at the same institution. Additionally, Sudarshan contributes as a Member of the Board of Governors at the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu and held the position of Visiting Professor at 서울대학교 (Seoul National University) from July 2015 to June 2016, focusing on combustion instabilities. Prior to these roles, Sudarshan worked as a researcher at Tohoku University, studying flame stabilization in microchannels and identifying unique flame rotational modes. The academic journey includes a PhD in Combustion and Propulsion and a Master of Engineering in Aerospace from the Indian Institute of Science, along with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from M S Bidve Engineering College.
