Liz Etzel is an Application Engineer at ikeGPS. Liz has previously worked as a GIS Tech at ARAPAHOE COUNTY WATER AND WASTEWATER AUTHORITY and as a Geoscience Research Intern at UNAVCO.

Liz Etzel has a passion for geology and geography. Liz has always been interested in the way the world works and how different processes have shaped the earth over time. This led their to pursue a career in geoscience research.

Liz Etzel’s experience as a GIS Tech at ARAPAHOE COUNTY WATER AND WASTEWATER AUTHORITY has given their a strong foundation in working with geographical data. Liz is skilled in using ArcGIS to create, verify, query, and edit water utility GIS databases.

As a Geoscience Research Intern at UNAVCO, Liz Etzel had the opportunity to work on a research project reconstructing paleontologist William Cobban's Western Interior Seaway shorelines. Using ArcGIS, they created an interpolated fossil age surface and digitized Cobban's shorelines to compare to their own. Liz presented their findings at the UCAR Geoscience poster symposium.

Liz Etzel’s experience and skills make their an excellent Application Engineer at ikeGPS. Liz is able to use their knowledge of geographical data to help ikeGPS create innovative GPS solutions for their clients.

Liz Etzel earned a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a focus in Environmental Resource Management and GIS from The University of Texas at Austin. Liz also holds a GIS Certificate from Front Range Community College in Geographic Information Science and Cartography. In addition, Liz is certified by the Outdoor Stewardship Institute in Crew Leadership for Trails, The American Red Cross in CPR, and Aerie Backcountry Medicine in Wilderness First Aid. Liz also has a Scrum Alliance certification in Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and Coursera certifications in Software Processes and Agile Practices and Introduction to Software Product Management.

Liz Etzel works with Luciano Di Giuseppe - Senior Full Stack Developer, Jane Georgiev - Senior Full Stack Developer, and Molly McPherson - Production Engineer. Their manager is Leon Toorenburg, CTO.
