Ikerbasque
Jesus Cortes is a Full Professor at Ikerbasque and Lab Head at Biocruces Bizkaia Instituto Investigación Sanitaria since April 2012, where also serves as Director of Research at NeuronUP. Previously, Jesus Cortes held the position of Ramon y Cajal Researcher at Universidad de Granada from March 2009 to April 2012 and was an EPSRC Fellow at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh from January 2006 to March 2009. Jesus Cortes' early career includes a Fulbright Scholarship at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and postdoctoral research at Radboud University Nijmegen. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Physics from the Institute Carlos I for Theoretical and Computational Physics, along with an MSc in Physics and Mathematics from Universidad de Granada and an MSc in Scientific Programming.
