Lourdes Basabe

Lourdes Basabe is the Director of the Microfluidics Cluster at UPV/EHU and has been an Ikerbasque Research Professor since 2012, focusing on lab-on-a-chip technologies. They held a postdoctoral research position at the University of Twente in 2006 and contributed significantly to point-of-care biomedical diagnostics as a Research Fellow at the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute from 2009 to 2012. Lourdes also served as Adjunct Faculty at Dublin City University from 2013 to 2016 and was a visiting scholar at The University of Auckland in 2011. They obtained a PhD in supramolecular chemistry, optical sensors, and micro and nano technologies from the University of Twente after earning a degree in Chemistry from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid.
