Pablo Acedo is an Ikerbasque Research Professor and Distinguished Researcher at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where they currently lead the development of a new laboratory in Applied Quantum Sensing associated with the EHU Quantum Center. Previously, they held a Full Professor position at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, directing the Sensor and Instrumentation Techniques Research Group. Acedo's research spans advanced optical sources and novel spectroscopic techniques with applications in biomedicine, environmental engineering, and military fields. Additionally, they have been involved in knowledge transfer activities, managing contracts with various companies and agencies. They earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
