Thomas Schäfer

Thomas Schäfer is a co-founder of Surphase and currently serves as a Group Leader at both POLYMAT and EHU. They hold the position of IKERBASQUE Research Professor and coordinate the FUNAMBULIST initiative. Thomas began their academic career as a Research Assistant at the University of Bradford and has since held various research and teaching roles, including postdoctoral positions at Università di Pisa and iBET. They earned a PhD in Membrane Technology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and previously completed a Bachelor's and Master's in Chemical Engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Hamburg University of Technology, respectively.
