ILEU e.V., based in Ulm, is the administrative office of the informal education network Danube-Networkers, which was founded in 2008. Today, around 100 civil society institutions from the Danube region and beyond are part of this network.

ILEU e.V.'s activities focus on the design and implementation of international education projects, particularly in the field of general adult education. The emphasis is on cooperation with partner organizations from the Danube region and the promotion of lifelong learning.

ILEU develops and tests innovative continuing education programs for adults, with a special focus on senior citizen education. It imparts scientifically sound content and uses modern educational formats that combine virtual and face-to-face learning in a meaningful way.

As a non-profit association, ILEU is committed to regional, national, and international networking among civil society actors. Joint projects strengthen cooperation in the field of adult education across national borders, with a particular focus on Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe.

We are involved in international cooperation projects using a wide range of digital tools. Our main areas of focus are learning in old age, social participation, and intergenerational dialogue across national and cultural boundaries. Our goal is to overcome mental barriers between European neighbors—especially between Eastern and Western Europe—and to promote awareness of a peaceful, united Europe.
