ILLAPEX is an independent security research lab focused on emerging cryptographic systems, adversarial resilience, and next-generation security architecture.

We research and develop experimental security tools, post-quantum cryptographic implementations, and resilient system designs that address threats most organizations haven't prepared for yet. Our work sits at the intersection of applied cryptography, software engineering, and forward-looking security research.

ILLAPEX exists to explore the problems that production environments can't afford to experiment with yet — and to publish findings, build prototypes, and advance the security community's understanding of what's coming next.

Current research areas:
- Post-quantum cryptography implementation and migration readiness
- Cryptographic hardening for identity and communications systems
- Zero trust architecture design patterns
- Adversarial resilience modeling
- Secure application design frameworks
- AI security and model integrity research

ILLAPEX is led by Vanessa Madison, a security analyst and software engineer with a background in applied cryptography, intelligent systems, and adversarial resilience. Vanessa holds a B.A. in Computer Science with a Cybersecurity Certificate from the University of Colorado Denver, CompTIA Security+, and is a DoW VICEROY Fellow.

ILLAPEX is open to research collaborations, academic partnerships, and exploratory projects in emerging security domains.
