John Thompson

John Thompson has a diverse work experience in the retail and product design industry. John is currently working as a Product Designer at ILLUME since February 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Design Department Manager and Senior Product Designer at Midwest-CBK from January 2017 to February 2021.

Before joining Midwest-CBK, John worked at Patina as a Senior Buyer & Product Developer from April 2016 to November 2016. In this role, they were responsible for selecting a range of products, negotiating discounts, and sourcing suppliers.

From January 2014 to March 2016, John held the position of Creative Director & Buyer at Minneapolis Ragstock Co. John oversaw multiple departments and played a crucial role in establishing a strong fashion brand and selecting relevant products.

Earlier in their career, John gained experience at Urban Outfitters, where they served as a District Manager from March 2012 to December 2013, an Area Sales Manager from February 2010 to March 2012, and a Store Manager from November 2005 to February 2010.

John's career in the retail industry began as a Store Manager at american Eagle Outfitters from January 2003 to October 2005.

John Thompson attended The Art Institutes International-Minnesota from 2004 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. During their time at the school, they also pursued a Bachelors of Science degree in Graphic Design.
