Thomas Kim

Thomas Kim has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Their most recent position is as a Software Engineer at illumin (AcuityAds Inc.), starting in May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at PointClickCare, where they held multiple roles including Principal Engineer, Software Engineering Team Lead, and Senior Developer from 2015 to 2023. At PointClickCare, they led teams, delivered projects on time, developed billing modules, improved performance, and implemented testing frameworks.

Before joining PointClickCare, Thomas was a Software Architect at Foren in 2013 and 2014, where they upgraded an ERP SaaS application and researched new technologies. Thomas also worked at KTNET as a Senior Developer in 2011 and at Hansol Education as a Senior Software Developer in 2010.

Thomas began their career at eValley VS in 2008 as a Senior Developer, and prior to that, they worked at Miraenet as a Senior Developer from 2002 to 2008. Throughout their career, Thomas has gained significant experience in various technologies, including Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Tomcat, MS SQL Server, Sencha ExtJS, MyBatis, Jasper Reports, SVN, and VB.

Thomas Kim completed their Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering at Seoul National University of Science and Technology. Thomas also holds several additional certifications, including "Extending, Securing, and Dockerizing Spring Boot Microservices" from LinkedIn (obtained in May 2023), "Cloud Computing" from the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies (obtained in April 2018), "Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC)" from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile (obtained in June 2015), "MCSE: Windows 2000" from Microsoft (obtained in June 2003), "MCDBA: Microsoft SQL Server 2000" from Microsoft (obtained in May 2003), "MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional" from Microsoft (obtained in April 2003), and "Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator (DBA)" from Oracle (obtained in December 2002). Thomas is currently in the process of learning Kubernetes through LinkedIn.
