Michael Walker

Michael Walker is currently a Staff Scientist at Illumina, where they lead a team in Product Development focused on Next Generation Sequencing. Previously, they served as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at Biofordrug s.r.l, contributing to the development of sensors for early Alzheimer's Disease recognition. Michael has held various roles at Illumina, advancing from Scientist 1 to Senior Scientist, and has a rich background in research from positions at the Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute and Arecor Limited. They earned both a Master's degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield, with research emphasizing self-assembled metallomacrocycles and modular ruthenium complexes.
