Simon Prince is an experienced engineering professional with a focus on optical systems and imaging technologies. Since March 2014, Simon has served as Principal Optical Engineer 1 at Illumina, managing projects, vendors, and functions related to sequencing platforms and library preparation instruments. As the owner of LEUS Technologies since 2007, Simon has honed entrepreneurial skills alongside technical expertise. Prior positions include Senior Imaging Engineer at Beckman Coulter, where Simon developed algorithms for image processing, machine learning, and urine analysis, and Principal Imaging Engineer at Iris Diagnostics, specializing in image processing algorithms in C++ and Matlab. Earlier roles include engineering positions at Optics 1 and BAE Systems, as well as a PhD candidacy at Heriot-Watt University, where Simon began formative academic training.
