Taylor O'Connell

Taylor O'Connell is a highly experienced bioinformatics professional currently serving as a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist at Illumina since October 2022. Taylor has a strong background in bioinformatics, having previously worked at Rohwer Lab, San Diego State University, and Barber Lab, UCLA as a Bioinformatics Analyst, where efforts focused on the PIRE Marine Biodiversity project. Earlier experiences include roles at KINOMEscan, Edwards Bioinformatics Lab, and Zenobia Therapeutics, covering various aspects of bioinformatics, computational modeling, assay development, and high-throughput screening. Taylor holds a Master of Science in Bioinformatics and Medical Informatics from San Diego State University, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from UCSD.
