Tinya Fleming

Tinya Fleming, PhD, is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in the field of genomic sequencing and product development. At Illumina from September 2021 to November 2023, Tinya served as a Staff Scientist, launching products through the design verification and validation process, and held roles such as Sr. Staff Scientist, where management of a team and direction of global project strategies were prominent. Tinya's contributions included developing diagnostic tools and achieving FDA approval for critical instruments, such as the MiSeqDx and the COVIDSeq Test. Prior to Illumina, Tinya conducted postdoctoral research at UCLA and UC San Diego, focusing on synapse formation and sporulation, and earned a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley, complemented by a Bachelor's degree from Rice University in Biochemistry and Cell Biology.
