Raphael Steinfeld is a Senior Data Science Researcher at iLoF since September 2024. Previously, Raphael served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Champalimaud Foundation from April 2021 to September 2024, focusing on mechanistic theoretical frameworks for robust coding in biological neural networks and testing predictions with rodent neural population data. Prior to this, Raphael completed a PhD at Champalimaud Foundation from January 2013 to January 2021, which involved the development of automated behavioral training procedures for mice and AI-based data processing pipelines for video data analysis, as well as investigating the correlation structure in neural populations and its impact on perceptual decisions. Raphael began this academic journey as a Master-Student at Max Planck Institute for Medical Research from 2011 to December 2012 and holds a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biosciences with a focus on Neuroscience from Heidelberg University.
