Leen Leus is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in applied agricultural research, particularly in ornamental plant breeding and biosafety coordination, serving as a Senior Scientist at ILVO since 1997. Leen holds a Master's degree in Bioscience Engineering and a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences from Universiteit Gent. Currently, Leen is a WASH consultant for rescEU - Johanniter, focusing on development and protocols for emergency medical teams. In addition to scientific work, Leen has dedicated more than 30 years to humanitarian aid, volunteering with the Red Cross and B-FAST, and has participated in multiple international missions.
