Sam Martin

Technical Director at Imagination

Sam Martin has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Sam started their career in 2007 as a Customer Advisor at DSG International, where they gained communication skills and learned the importance of providing excellent customer service. In 2009, they worked as a Technical Support at LCN.com.

In 2011, Sam took on the role of Station Manager at Crush Radio, where they managed and directed a team of volunteers and ensured high standards on and off the air. Simultaneously, they worked as a Production Assistant and Competition Presenter at JACK fm Hertfordshire, where they were responsible for editing local news and scheduling broadcast content.

Starting from 2012, Sam worked at Hertfordshire Students Union as a Systems Developer and IT Manager. Sam handled projects involving Linux based servers, backup solutions, and inventory e-management. Additionally, they worked with web programming and Windows Server.

In 2013, Sam joined Imagination as a Dev Ops/System Administrator. Here, they were responsible for driving technical strategy and providing direction around technical governance, development, and delivery of projects. Sam later took on the role of Technical Delivery Lead, focusing on the delivery of complex digital systems and bridging the gap between creative ambitions and technical realities. Sam eventually became the Technical Manager, overseeing digital applications across the Auto Show Experiential programme and recruitment of talented teams.

Overall, Sam Martin has gained extensive experience in technical roles, project management, leadership, and customer service throughout their career.

Sam Martin attended the University of Hertfordshire from 2009 to 2012, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering.
