Ehsan Samei

Ehsan Samei has a varied work experience in the field of medical physics. Ehsan is currently serving as the Reed and Martha Rice Distinguished Professor at Duke University since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor at Duke University from 2008 to 2022. Ehsan Samei has also served as the Director of the Duke Center for Virtual Imaging Trials and the Carl E. Ravin Advanced Imaging Laboratories since April 2021. Ehsan is the Chief Scientific Advisor at Imalogix since May 2023. Additionally, they have been a part of the Advisory Boards for GE HealthCare and Siemens Healthineers since 2021 and 2019 respectively. Ehsan Samei founded Metis Health Analytics, LLC in 2017. Ehsan also has prior experience as the Director of Duke University Medical Physics from 2015 to 2019, and as an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina and a Medical Physics Fellow at Henry Ford Health in the late 1990s.

Ehsan Samei obtained a Master's Degree in Medical Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992-1993. Ehsan then pursued further education at the University of Michigan, where they earned another Master's Degree in Radiological Engineering from 1993 to 1995. Continuing their studies at the same institution, Ehsan Samei completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Nuclear Science, Medical Imaging, and Physics from the University of Michigan in 1993-1997.
