Zia Bhatti has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Zia started their career as a Software Engineer/Project Leader at Interactive Systems in 1986 and worked there until 1990. From 1990 to 1991, they co-founded and served as a Senior Consultant at Software Technologies Group. Then, from 1992 to 1995, Zia worked as a Project Leader at the Chicago Board of Trade.
In 1995, Zia co-founded iManage, Inc. and held various positions including Co-Founder & Chief Architect, VP Engineering, and Chief Software Architect. Zia played a key role in guiding iManage through its startup and IPO stages before the company was acquired by Interwoven in 2003. iManage's main product, iManage WorkSite, is now a leading document management solution for the legal and professional services market.
After leaving iManage, Zia joined Edline LLC in 2010 as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, they led the planning and integration of multiple business acquisitions into Edline's scalable SaaS EdTech platform. Zia managed a team of 55 people, overseeing staffing, product enhancements, partner engagements, and data center operations.
In 2011, Zia joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise as the Head of Digital Safe Engineering. Zia held this position until 2014, during which they played a significant role in the development of the digital safe engineering department.
Finally, in 2015, Zia joined iManage again, this time as the Chief Architect. Zia continues to contribute their expertise and leadership to the company.
Zia Bhatti holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, which was completed in 2009. Prior to this, Zia Bhatti pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago, completing it in 1986. Before the MS degree, Zia Bhatti also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1983.
