Rob Oxonian has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Rob started their career as an Operating Systems Analyst at San Diego State University in 1998 and was responsible for rebuilding, maintaining, and securing critical campus infrastructure. In 2003, they became a Security Analyst in the Information Technology Security Office, where they managed server and network security and assisted with forensics and security audits.
In 2006, Rob worked as an IT Consultant at Stokyo, LLC, where they focused on web design and coding for E-commerce online retail stores. Rob also re-architected the corporate website infrastructure for Vestax Corporation in Japan.
Rob then worked as a Unix Systems Administrator at DivX, LLC from 2008 to 2010, where they were responsible for core services and production web properties and services. Rob later joined Rovi Corporation as a Systems Engineer in the Production Operations group, where they supported production DivX services and migrated web properties to virtualized environments.
From 2014 to 2015, Rob returned to DivX, LLC as a Senior Systems Engineer and played a key role in migrating production and internal services to AWS and building the GoLive environment in AWS China. In 2015, they joined IMAX as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they were responsible for architecting and managing dev, integration, QA, and production environments.
In 2018, Rob joined Shield AI as a Staff Engineer, and in 2020, they moved to Digital Realty as a Principal Engineer. Currently, they hold the role of Principal Cloud Architect at IMAX, where they utilize their expertise in cloud architecture.
Rob Oxonian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from San Diego State University, completing their studies from 1995 to 1998. In addition to their degree, Rob obtained the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from the SANS Institute in April 2003 and the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in 2020.
