Hunter Purnell

Director IT at IMC

Hunter Purnell has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Hunter began their career at the National Security Agency, where they worked for eight years as a Research Engineer, Program Manager, and Program Engineer, specializing in improving automated speech recognition. From there, they moved on to FedEx Services, where they served as an IT Manager, overseeing the development of the company's website. Purnell then joined BioNetrix Systems Corporation as the Director of the Professional Services department, responsible for providing system engineering solutions and developing custom applications. Hunter later worked at N-Cycles Software Solutions as a Principal Consultant, leading clients to the best overall solutions based on their business requirements. Purnell then joined First Data Corp as a Director, leading the development team responsible for designing and implementing the merchant boarding system. Currently, they hold the role of Director IT at IMC Companies, LLC. Additionally, Purnell also taught as an Assistant Professor at Southwest Tennessee Community College, where they were the Program Director for the Advanced Integrated Industrial Technologies program.

Hunter Purnell earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Memphis between 1983 and 1986. Prior to that, they completed their high school education and obtained a High School Diploma from Memphis Prep between 1976 and 1982. Hunter later pursued further education at The Johns Hopkins University, where they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 1989 to 1992.
