Karl Opsomer

Karl Opsomer is a Patent Portfolio Manager at imec, where they are responsible for managing and developing intellectual property rights aligned with research and development strategies. With over a decade of experience as a materials and process expert at imec and Ghent University, Karl has contributed to multiple R&D projects, particularly in micro-electronics. Their entrepreneurial spirit led to a brief tenure as a business developer at BikeLabs International, and they continue to mentor at imec. Karl holds a PhD in Materials Science from KU Leuven and a Master's in Solid State Physics from Ghent University.
