Lars Akkermans is a senior consultant specializing in mobility, road safety, and human behavior, currently active in the Mobilidata programme at imec since 2018. Previously, Lars worked as a senior researcher at Transport & Mobility Leuven from 2009 to 2019 and conducted research at the Belgian Institute for Road Safety from 2006 to 2009. Lars founded F2S2, a consultancy focused on improving safety solutions, and has robust experience in traffic research, particularly in the interaction between driver, car, and infrastructure. Lars earned a Master’s degree in Psychology from KU Leuven in 2002 and began their career as a junior researcher at TNO Human Factors in 2003.
