Luc Martens

Luc Martens is a distinguished academic and entrepreneur currently serving as a Professor of Wireless Networks, IoT, and applications of Electromagnetic waves at Ghent University, where they also co-head the WAVES research group. With a rich history in research, Luc managed the Wireless and Cable research group from 1991 to 2016 before leading the integration of iMinds into the renowned nanotechnology center imec in 2017. Luc is the founder and president of Excentis, a company established in 2000 that specializes in testing and consulting services for the telecom and ICT industry. In addition to these roles, Luc co-founded ART4L in 2014, focused on enhancing logistics with wearable technology, and has initiated several agricultural projects, including CSA Laurences Moestuin and Moestuin Architect, promoting organic farming in Belgium.
