Peter Gerets

Peter Gerets has a diversified work experience in various companies. Peter started their career as an R&D Hardware developer at Eureka from 1985 to 1987. Peter then worked at Philips Industrie Brugge as an R&D Hardware developer from 1987 to 1998. After that, they joined Barco as a Hardware Developer from 1998 to 2002. Peter continued working at Barco Media & Entertainment, where they held the roles of R&D Manager from 2002 to 2006 and International R&D Director from 2006 to 2010. From 2010 onwards, they became the VP Technology- Corporate Barco Labs- Advanced Display Technology at Barco. Currently, they work as the Scientific Director at imec since October 2021. Throughout their career, they have been involved in various responsibilities, including technology scouting, development of technology networks, project budgeting, and external funding.

Peter Gerets attended the Katholieke Hogeschool Brugge-Oostende from 1981 to 1985, where they earned a degree in Electronics - Micro Electronics, specifically an Ind Ing.
