Serge Biesemans

Serge Biesemans is the Senior Vice President of Semiconductor R&D at imec, a position held since 2019, where they focus on advancing the semiconductor industry amidst the challenges presented to Moore's Law. Previously, they served as VP of Wafer Technology & Smart Systems at imec from 2009 to 2012 and spent several years at Tokyo Electron US as VP of Corporate Marketing Europe from 2012 to 2019. Serge holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, a Master's degree in Physics and Materials of Devices, and a PhD in Micro-Electronics from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, which they completed in 1997. Their early career included roles at IBM, where they worked as both a Senior Engineer and Device Engineer.
