Leopold Bertea

Leopold Bertea is a seasoned professional in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at Mendus AB since May 2022, where responsibilities include overseeing the development of a global manufacturing infrastructure for the DCP-001 program. Prior roles include Senior Vice President of Technical Operations Europe at Cellectis, Site Head and General Manager at Cellforcure, and President of LFB, where significant contributions were made to bioproduction and gene therapy projects. Leopold Bertea's extensive experience also encompasses key leadership positions at Sanofi, including VP roles in biologics projects and global biotherapeutics, as well as management positions at Novartis spanning over eight years. Holding a Ph.D. and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from ETH Zürich, Leopold Bertea has a solid educational foundation that complements a robust career in biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
