Senior Software Engineer at Imperative

Rick Barnes is a senior software engineer at Imperative. Rick has over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including maintenance and support for etch tools and new equipment engineering for 50mm and 64mm MCM packaging. Rick has also been an equipment owner for Varian DF4, CF3000, and E220 medium current Ion Implanters, Varian 160XP high current Ion Implanter, and NEC MV-T30 high energy Ion Implanter. Rick is an expert on all semiconductor manufacturing equipment and has performed all maintenance and repairs (to component level), scheduled and performed recipe setups and size change conversions from 4" to 5" wafers. Rick has also been responsible for spare parts procurement, upgrades, and service contract negotiation. Rick has developed written procedures used for maintenance and operations. Rick has also set up a Local Area Network using token ring and IBM OS/2 LAN Server to enhance production support. In addition, they have designed and programmed the control system for the bubble flux tool used in the packaging area (PLC).

Rick Barnes completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) in Electrical and Electromechanical Engineering at Owens Community College. Rick also completed a High School diploma at Central Catholic Toledo, with a focus in College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program.
