John Schmidt

John Schmidt has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over 20 years. John is currently working as the Director of Managed Services at Imperium Data since July 2022. Prior to that, they were the Business Owner of Butterfly Footprint starting from November 2020.

Before their entrepreneurial venture, John held various leadership roles in the IT industry. John served as the SVP of Information Technology at Newgentek from May 2019 to November 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Solutions Architect at SynerComm Inc. from June 2018 to May 2019, where they focused on network and security architecture.

John's experience also includes working at Netskope, where they held multiple roles such as Senior Technical Analyst from September 2017 to June 2018, System/Sales Engineer Manager from September 2015 to September 2017, and Professional Services Manager from March 2015 to September 2015. John played a significant role in supporting and implementing the Netskope platform.

Before joining Netskope, John worked at Juniper Networks as a Senior System Engineer from September 2010 to March 2015. John managed a team of engineers and provided sales strategies and training to account representatives.

Earlier in their career, John worked at Price Waterhouse Coopers as a Manager Level I Network from November 2008 to September 2010. John delivered architecture and deployment strategies for datacenter build-outs and implemented project workflows to improve application migration quality.

John's experience also includes working as a Senior Network Engineer at Fidelity National Information Services from November 2007 to November 2008. Prior to that, they served as the IT Director at Samter Homes from October 2005 to November 2007, where they managed network, computer, and phone systems.

John'searlier experience includes working at Marsh for several years. John held the position of AVP Global Network Engineering from May 2000 to September 2005, where they managed a global team of engineers and implemented network security systems. John also served as the Global Network Security Director at Marsh during the same time, where they designed and implemented layered network security defenses.

John Schmidt graduated from Stony Brook University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies/Technicians. John later attended Farmingdale State College from 1991 to 1992, where they pursued studies in Accounting and Finance. In 2019, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon.
