Mike Thomas

Mike Thomas is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in hardware engineering, currently serving as the Senior Director of Hardware Engineering at Impinj since June 2000, where responsibilities include leading the development of RAIN RFID readers and gateways. Prior to this role, Mike worked as a Senior Engineer at Allen Telecom, Inc. from 1997 to 2000, focusing on cellular infrastructure products across multiple frequency bands for various communication systems. With earlier roles as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer at EVI, Incorporated, and a Hardware Design Engineer at American Systems Corporation, Mike has a strong background in wireless communication system research, RF transceiver development, and high-speed data acquisition hardware. Mike holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, earned between 1980 and 1985.
