Chief Materials Officer at Impossible Objects

John Bayldon has held a variety of roles in the manufacturing and engineering fields. From 1992 to 1996, they were the HR Manager at Pilkington Insulation. From 1996 to 1997, they were the Production Team Leader at Techbuild Composites. From 1997 to 2001, they were the Technology Chief of Composite Processing at DERA, where they conducted research in Liquid Composite Molding Technologies. From 2001 to 2007, they were a Consultant at John Bayldon Consulting. From 2007 to 2013, they were an Adjunct Professor and Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Northwestern University, teaching the EA2 course and carrying out research on Processing and structural performance of Composite Materials. Finally, from 2013 to present, they have held the roles of Chief Materials Officer, Chief Manufacturing Officer, and Consultant at Impossible Objects, Inc.

John Bayldon received their PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Northwestern University in 2007. Prior to that, they earned an MSc in Composite Materials and Engineering from Imperial College London in 1995.
