Asrai Porter's work experience begins with their role as a Planner at ERA Architects Inc. from February 2011 to December 2011. Asrai then worked as a Community Planner at CitySpaces Consulting from January 2013 to January 2015. In 2019, they joined Bit Quill Technologies as a Co-op Student from January 2019 to August 2019. At Bit Quill Technologies, they held various roles including Developer Advocate from November 2020 to January 2021, Developer and Culture Champion from January 2021 to June 2022, and VP People & Culture from August 2021 to October 2022. Most recently, they joined Improving in October 2022 as the Vice President People.

Asrai Porter has a diverse education history. In 2005, they attended Simon Fraser University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Archaeology in 2008. After completing their bachelor's degree, Asrai further pursued their education at The University of British Columbia from 2008 to 2011. During this time, they earned a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning. Recently, from 2017 to 2020, Asrai returned to The University of British Columbia to pursue a second bachelor's degree, this time in Computer Science, with a focus in the field of study of Computer Science.
