James Lovell

James Lovell has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. James recently joined Improving as a Technical Director in August 2022, where they oversee technical aspects of the company. Prior to that, they worked at YoppWorks as a Business Architect, assisting clients with their transformation and modernization strategies.

From 2016 to 2021, James was the Director of Application Services at doTERRA International LLC, where they were responsible for software development and provided strategy and direction for various technical areas.

As the Vice President of Software Engineering at PurePredictive from 2013 to 2016, they managed teams and created software products for clients.

Before that, they held the role of Development Manager at Backcountry.com from 2008 to 2013, where they managed software teams and contributed to defining a future technology stack.

From 1998 to 2007, James worked at Nu Skin Enterprises in various roles, including Manager of Application Administration, Development Principal, Development Manager, and Senior Software Engineer.

James started their career at Callware Technologies as a Software Engineer and later served as a Technical Manager of Education.

James Lovell completed their Master of Science (M.S.) in Information Systems from Rochester Institute of Technology, studying from 1994 to 2001. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University, graduating in 1994. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications from Lightbend, Inc., including Lightbend Akka for Scala Professional - Level 2, Lightbend Scala Language Professional - Level 2, and several certifications related to Reactive Architecture. These certifications were obtained in 2021 and 2022.
