Michael Ell

Michael Ell has a diverse range of work experience, primarily in consulting roles. Michael worked as a Director at Improving (formerly Quadrus) from April 2010 to the present, where they participated in hiring events and interviews. In 2019, they served as the Chief Architect at Tetro Golf, collaborating with the company to design the architecture of a system that eases coordination of golf rounds.

In 2021, Michael joined Abbott as a Cloud Architect, where they reviewed the design of an existing solution and evaluated Azure Synapse. Michael also implemented ELT options to showcase Synapse capabilities. Additionally, they worked as an Architect, Team Lead, and Mentor on behalf of Improving for an oil and gas brokerage client, designing and building a real-time iOS and Android application.

From 2020 to 2021, Michael served as an Architect, Team Lead, Business Analyst, and Mentor at Calgary Parking Authority, leading teams towards the next generation of the ParkPlus parking management solution. At Graham in 2019, they worked as a Technical Team Lead, Architect, and Mentor, leading a team in the design and build of a web-based portal.

In 2016, Michael worked as a Technical Director on behalf of Quadrus for Boardwalk, providing assessments of the IT ecosystem and leading a development team in software initiatives. Michael also worked as a Team Lead for Schneider Electric Energy & Sustainability Services, leading the design and implementation of a solution module and improving the software development process.

In 2015, Michael served as an Instructor on behalf of Quadrus for WestJet, designing and presenting a custom JavaScript course. Michael also worked as a Project Lead, Solution Architect, Senior Developer, and Mentor on behalf of Quadrus for Osprey Informatics, creating an iOS mobile application.

Michael Ell completed their Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from The University of Lethbridge between 1989 and 1992. Subsequently, they pursued Computer Technology studies at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 1994 to 1996.
