Robert Sampson possesses extensive experience in mechanical engineering and motorsports. Currently serving as a Tech/Race Official for IMSA since March 2019, Robert has held significant roles at various prestigious companies, including Specialist Engineer for Mechanical Design at Aerojet Rocketdyne and Tech/Race Official at INDYCAR. Previous positions include Staff Mechanical Engineer at Lockheed Martin RMS and Senior Mechanical Engineer at both Belcan Corporation and Beal Aerospace. Robert's early career includes mechanical engineering roles at United Technologies, Kaman Aerospace, and a notable stint as an Indy Car race mechanic and pit crew member. Robert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, obtained between 1978 and 1983.
