J. Mark Null has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. J. Mark began their career in 1986 as a Naval Meteorologic and Oceanographic Officer in the US Navy, where they served until 2008. In 2002, they joined the Naval Oceanographic Office as the Director of the Mine Warfare Division. In 2006, they transitioned to the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center as the Chief of the Environmental Systems Branch. J. Mark then moved to the U.S. Geological Survey in 2009 as the Chief of South Texas Programs. From 2014 to 2021, they worked at the NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration as the Hydrologist in Charge of the West Gulf River Forecast Center. Following this, they joined Aqua Strategies in 2021 as a Senior Water Resources Specialist. Currently, they hold the position of Regional Sales Manager for Texas at In-Situ Environmental, starting in 2023.
J. Mark Null obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics from The University of Texas at Austin, studying from 1982 to 1987. J. Mark then pursued higher education and earned a Master's Degree in Oceanography and Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School, attending from 1992 to 1995. In addition to their academic achievements, Null obtained a certification as a Real Estate Broker/Sales Agent from the Texas Real Estate Commission in August 2019.
