KNI-BB or Indonesia National Committee on Large Dams (INACOLD) is a non-profit professional organisation engaged in the field of large dams and is affiliated to the international organisation, the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) headquartered in Paris with current members: 102 countries from around the world. Based on data from ICOLD, since 1930 INACOLD has been listed as a member of ICOLD as part of the past colonial period. In 1951, at the initiative of Prof Dr Ir Sedijatmo (alm), the founder of KNI-BB, the Republic of Indonesia was registered as a member of ICOLD, and this was the embryo of the birth of KNI-BB. As a member of ICOLD, since 1951, the Government of Indonesia has sent its representative Prof. Dr. Ir. Sedijatmo to attend the Executive Meeting and Congress organised by ICOLD. The membership of KNI-BB / INACOLD in ICOLD is stipulated in Article 7 of the Articles of Association of KNI-BB in accordance with the provisions of Section III and IV of the ICOLD Constitution.

KNI-BB atau Indonesia National Comitte on Large Dams (INACOLD) merupakan organisasi profesi nirlaba yang bergerak dalam bidang bendungan besar dan berinduk kepada organisasi  internasional yaitu International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) yang berkantor pusat di Paris dengan anggota saat ini: 102 negara dari berbagai penjuru dunia. Berdasarkan data dari ICOLD, sejak tahun 1930 INACOLD telah tercatat sebagai anggota ICOLD sebagai bagian dari periode kolonial yang lalu. Pada tahun 1951 atas inisiatif Prof. Dr. Ir. Sedijatmo (alm) yang merupakan Pendiri KNI-BB, Negara Republik Indonesia didaftarkan sebagai anggota ICOLD dan hal ini merupakan embrio lahirnya KNI-BB. Sebagai anggota ICOLD, sejak tahun 1951, Pemerintah RI mengirimkan wakilnya Prof. Dr. Ir. Sedijatmo untuk menghadiri Executive Meeting dan Congress yang diselenggarakan ICOLD. Keanggotaan KNI-BB / INACOLD dalam ICOLD tertuang pada Pasal 7 Anggaran Dasar KNI-BB sesuai ketentuan Section III dan IV dari Constitution
