Inari
Sy Traore is a Senior Research Scientist at Inari since July 2022, with prior experience as a CRISPR Scientist at Tuskegee University from October 2017 to July 2022. At Tuskegee University, Sy developed a CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing system for peanuts, focusing on improving seed oil nutritional quality, reducing allergenicity, and developing disease-resistant lines. Sy's expertise extends to other legumes and includes designing and validating gRNA/vector constructs, transforming plants, and mentoring students in research projects. Sy holds a PhD in Translational Plant Science from Virginia Tech and two Master's degrees, one in Plant Molecular Biology from Tuskegee University and another in Animal Physiology from Universite de Ouagadougou.
