Susan Smith

Susan Smith is an accomplished professional in the field of immunology and translational science, currently serving as Early Global Program Head and Executive Director at Incyte since December 2020. With a strong background in inflammation and autoimmunity, Susan previously held key positions at GSK from July 2015 to December 2020, including Director of Clinical Biomarkers and Director of Biology for the HBV DPU, where significant contributions were made to drug development using biomarker strategies and leading innovative research teams. Prior roles include Senior Investigator at Stiefel, a GSK company, and Research Scientist at Duke University, alongside postdoctoral research and fellowship at esteemed institutions such as Duke University Medical Center and The Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology. Susan holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Chemistry from Florida Atlantic University.
