James Swain

James Swain is a seasoned CTO with extensive experience in leading and managing data and engineering teams. James founded INDAGARI in 2022 and previously served as Head Data and Engineering at Bloomberg Second Measure. From 2016 to 2020, they were the Head of Data and Engineering at Second Measure, and before that, they were an Engineering Manager at Pure Storage. Mr. Swain co-founded Sublime-Mail, a SaaS data science company, where they served as CTO from 2013 to 2015. James also worked for Cisco Systems, serving as a Senior Technical Leader in Secure Cloud Operations, Technical Leader in the Security Technology Group, and Senior Software Developer in Data Center and Switching Technology Group. Before joining Cisco, they served as a Software Developer at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, where they were part of the Gamma Ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) Flight Software team. James obtained their postgraduate degree from the University of Edinburgh and was a member of the BaBar Collaboration team, responsible for maintaining the data acquisition system of the BaBar Detector based at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center.
