Vice President Customer Engagement at Indegene

Jay Schwartz has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Jay is currently serving as the Vice President of Customer Engagement at Indegene since August 2022. Prior to that, from 2020 to 2022, they worked at LEO Pharma as the Head of Sales Effectiveness & Operations.

In 2020, Jay briefly owned their own company, Schwartz Pharma Consulting, before joining Adhera Therapeutics, Inc. as the Head of Commercial Operations. In this role, they were responsible for expanding and upgrading sales, marketing, distribution, and strategic partner capabilities for cardiovascular medicines. Jay also successfully transformed an underperforming contract sales team into a high-performance permanent team.

Before that, Jay worked at IQVIA from 2015 to 2018 as the Vice President of Commercial Sales Operations. Jay led business development, contract sales, and back office operations for large pharmaceutical and medical device organizations.

From 2002 to 2015, Jay held various leadership positions at GSK. Jay served as the Vice President of Sales for respiratory, neurologic, cardiovascular, metabolic, and urinary products. Jay successfully launched new products and managed a sales force of over 1,500 professionals. Prior to that, they were the Area Vice President of Sales for medical center and hematology/rare disease divisions at GSK. Additionally, they held the role of Regional Vice President of Sales for the North Carolina, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic markets, where they led a team of sales managers and representatives and consistently exceeded sales performance expectations.

At the start of their career in 1985, Jay worked in various roles at GSK, including Director of Business Operations and Director of Health Systems Marketing. Jay played a key role in the successful launch of Advair and led marketing initiatives in respiratory products, achieving significant sales milestones.

Jay Schwartz has a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from St. John's University, which they obtained between 1979 and 1984. Jay then pursued a Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Marketing at Long Island University, which they completed from 1985 to 1987. Lastly, Jay Schwartz attended Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business between 1988 and 1990, where they earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business.
